Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton or Sen. Hillary Clinton as she is better known in the US Politics and also in the international sphere is the Junior United States Senator from New York, and along  with a member of the Democratic Party is also a revered and prime contender of the US Presidential Election in 2008. In her personal  life she is married to Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States of America and from  1993 to 2001 was the First Lady of the United States.  By profession she is a lwyer and the former First Lady of Arkansas.

Senator Hillary Clinton was elected to the United States Senate in the year 2000 while at the samee time becoming the First Lady in the history of the United States to be elected to public office. She at the same time added new ink to history by becoming the first female senator to represent New York. Her excelled performance made it possibke for her to get re-elected in 2006. Being a Senator she is capable to have a seat in the Committee on Armed Forces, the Committee on Environment and Public Works, the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions along with the Special Committee on Aging.

She, as part of her responsibility is engaged with the serving of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee; the Environment and Public Works Committee; the Special Committee on Aging; and she is the first New Yorker ever to serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee. The ghastly incident of September 11, 2001 when the terrorist attack sent a shudder through the spine of the entire United States of America, Senator Clinton was perceived along with others succoring the affected people and keeping no stone unturned in securing the funds for re-building the City of New York. While in this drive she was shot to fame for her struggle to provide compensation to the families of the victims, grants for hard-hit businesses, and health care for front line workers at Ground Zero. It has been her objective since then to work for resources for enabling New York to restore its lost pride, to improve homeland security for New York and other communities, and at best the protection of the people of the United States of America from the grasp of all future attacks. She has been instrumental in introducing the legislation to provide for direct and threat-based homeland security funding to ensure that first responders and high-target communities have the resources they need.

Throughout her tenure in the Senate, she has continued her drive to work for the hapless children and families through taking proper initiatives so as to ensure the safety of prescription drugs for children. She took all steps for the introduction of the legislation now included in the Pediatric Research Equity Act. She is also found to sort out and help schools address environmental hazards.
