Conan Christopher O'Brien is a renowned comedian and winner of the Emmy award. He is also a noteworthy writer and a television personality. He is best known as the host of the lkete night talk/variety show, the Lte Night with Conan O'Brien. Witnessing his immense and elevating popularity it has ben announced by the NBC that from the year 20009 he will replace Jay Leno, the host of the famous program The Tonight Show.
Following his graduaton O'Brien shifted his base to Los Angeles and joined Not Necessarily the News of the HBO. He had an association of two years with that very program and in that brief period he used to perform with several improvisational groups, one of which was The Groundlings. Due to excessive monetary constraints at this time he acted in several corporate infomercials. It was after his venture with Not Necessarily the News, he partnered with his old classmate of the Harvard Greg Daniels as the staff writers for Fox Broadcasting for the Wilton North Report which happened to be short lived. It was in January 1998, when O'Brien was hired as a writer for the Saturday Night Live. His venture during the three years at this program made him reputed both in the national and international scale, for his widely acclaimed recurring sketches like "Mr. Short-Term Memory" and "The Girl Watchers". The last production became sensational and was first performed by the eminent actors like Tom Hanks and Jon Lovitz. He was also instrumental in writing the sketch "Nude Beach", the sketch for he was crticized widely since the very word 'penis' was used or sung for 42 times.
The date April 25, 1993 happened to be a turning point in the life of O'Brien. It was on this day that he was chosen by Lorne Michaels as the successor of David Letterman, for hosting the Late Night with David Letterman. Though from the initiation even for the first 2 to 3 years after its debut he continued to receive critical reviews. However for his own zeal and efficiency O'Brien's writing and comedic style was on the way of gradual improvement, resulting in the development of a growing fan base, especially with high school and college students, that earned slowly the respect of critics and his peers and positioned him greatly in the public life.
