Albert Arnold "Al" Gore, Jr. or Al Gore as he is better known, is a prominent politician of America. He is also a teacher, businessman and famous for being an environemtalist.he became the 45th Vice President of the United States of America from 1993 to 2001 serving the then President Bill Clinton.

Prior to this, he had served in the United States  House of Representatives from 1977-95 and in the United States Senate from 1985-93 representing the State of Tennessee. In the Presidential Election of 2000, one of the most controverial and noted for the stiff contested presidential election the in U.S. history he was the Nominee of the Democratic Party. At the intial stage of the election he won the popular vote and with over half a million more votes than the candidate of the Republiocn Party Geroge W. Bush he ultimately feel short of his success and lost the electoral college. This was followd by a huge debate throughout the United States and also in the international arena.  It took nearabout a month when through recounting of ballots and plethora of court challenges in the state of Florida led the U.S. Supreme Court motivated the Supre Court to end this disputed contest with a final ruling of Bush Vs. Gore handing the electoral college victory, and consequently the presidency, to Bush.

Now a days, Al Gore is the President of the well-known American television channel Current TV. He ia also the Chairman of the Generation Investment Management, the Director on the board of Apple Inc. and an unofficial advisor to the senior management of Google. Being an environmentalist and is most concerned about the ominous effect of the saga of Global Warming. To him, perhaps this is the greatest danger that is faced by the present human civilization and also by the posterity.  He is occasionally invited to lecture where he speaks widely on the topic of global warming, which he calls "the climate crisis." In 2006, he was instrumental and starred in the controversial documentary that won the Academy Award, An Incoivenient Truth,  discussing and making a thread bare analysis on the global warming and the environment.
He is one of the potential candidates of the 2008 Presidential Election in the United States of America. Though he is apparently reuctant but there is a specualtion that he is one of the very few candidates who have a fair chance to win.
